Instrument Rating Course

An Instrument Rating (IR) is the Rating that will allow you to fly in Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). These are conditions of poor visibility, low cloud base and generally adverse weather. The Rating qualifies you to fly an Aircraft relying solely on its Flight Instruments. You can commence the Instrument Rating Course when you have approximately 140 to 150 hours flight experience.

Private Pilot License (PPL)

The Private Pilot License (PPL) is the take-off to your career in Aviation, or the gateway to recreational flying. A PPL allows you to do private flights, and to train further for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) in order to work commercially as a pilot. Training can be done on a full-time or part-time basis. The PPL course is a very important first step in your life as a pilot. However, it is important to first complete an Introductory Flight Training with an Instructor to serve as a deciding factor for your career.

Multi Engine Rating

A Multi-Engine rating qualifies you to fly an Aircraft with more than one engine. Elite Aviation Academy Flight Training Centre uses several Beechcraft Baron BE55 Aircraft, powered by two 260 HP fuel-injected Continental engines. (To view the air- craft visit our Advanced Training Fleet). Part of the Multi-Engine Training can be done on our Frasca Tru-Flight Simulator. It is a safe and more cost–effective alternative. (To view our state of the art simulator visit Our Simulator). To obtain a Multi-Engine Rating you will need a PPL with a minimum of 150 total flying hours. All Multi-Engine conversions are given by our highly skilled and qualified senior Grade II Multi-Engine Instructors, all of whom have an excess of 1500 hours flying experience.

Trained to Instruct

After completing your PPL it is recommended that you obtain a Night Rating. The Night Rating enables you to fly at night (15 minutes after sunset to 15 minutes before sunrise). This Rating is usually done towards training for your Commercial Pilot License (CPL). You will be permitted to start your Night Rating any time after the completion of your PPL (Private Pilot License).
